    Hatha refers to the practice of physical yoga posture, meaning your Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Iyengar and Power yoga class, are all Hatha. The word “Hatha” can be translated two ways: as “willful” or “forceful”, or as “sun” (ha) and moon (tha), the yoga balance.   • Vinyasa Yoga

    Vinyasa also called “flow” because of the smooth way that poses run together, is one of the most popular contemporary styles of yoga. Each movement is synchronized to a breath. The breath is given primacy, acting as the anchor as you move from one pose to the next. Vinyasa’ s strength is in its diversity. If you appreciate having things a little loose and unpredictable and like to keep moving this style is definitely worth a try.

  • Yin Yoga

    Yin is a slow, soothing and meditative style of yoga that targets the deep connective tissues, bones, joints, fascia and ligaments in the body. It’s also focuses on stretching and stimulating different acupressure points from traditional Chinese medicine. We hold mostly passive poses for about 2-5 minutes to work into our connective tissues. The more we work our facial system and deep tissues, the less dense and tight our bodies become as we age.

  • Restorative

    Restorative yoga, also called gentle yoga, is a style of yoga designed to relax, restore, and rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit. Being a form of Hatha yoga, its intentions are to stretch and strengthen the physical body in preparation for seated meditation. In this class you will find mellow movements, long-held postures often supported with props and a general atmosphere of ease and calm.
